Mike Tucker

Mike Tucker grew up in Troon, Scotland immersed in golf and inspired by the Open Championships he witnessed as a boy. A lifelong fascination with the game's history deepened after a chance meeting at Musselburgh with World Hickory Open founder Lionel Freedman, which sparked a simple question: “Why don’t more golfers know these stories?”

Determined to shine a light on golf’s overlooked origins, Mike has researched the people, places and events that shaped the modern game beyond the familiar St Andrews narrative. He lives in Portobello, Edinburgh, and serves as Secretary of Leith Rules Golf Society and is a member of Bruntsfield Short Hole Golf Club. He has featured in the Podcast Talking Golf History.
